Minority Engineering Programs at Purdue Welcomes the AAARCC!
The Asian American and Asian Resource and
Cultural Center (AAARCC) opened its doors on April 29, 2015!
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue will celebrate the opening of its
new Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center with a ceremony on
April 29 at Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse.
The 4:30 p.m. event is free and open to the public, said
Victoria Loong, the center's interim director. A reception will follow in the
west foyer of Stewart Center. Attendees also will have the opportunity to visit
the center, Room 162 in Stewart, until 7:30 p.m.
The celebration will include remarks by Purdue Provost Debasish
"Deba" Dutta and G. Christine Taylor, vice provost for diversity and
Taiko, a Japanese drumming performance group from Chicago, also will be
part of the celebration. Drummers and dancers will give a featured performance
to close out the program.
Taylor said AAARCC will support Purdue Asian American and Asian
students and provide education and awareness opportunities for the entire
